Alabama man walks away from wreck dies 3 hours later

After a serious accident, victims might be able to walk away from the wreckage, they might have no visible injuries and they might even say that they feel fine. However, accidents can result in very serious injuries that are not immediately or outwardly apparent following the impact.

Sometimes these injuries that present themselves later can be minor, like whiplash or other pain. However, these injuries can also be incredibly serious if there is internal bleeding or another injury that could lead to serious damage or loss of life. In both instances, parties can stand to financially recoup. However, it is most critical to seek treatment in a timely manner to address the injuries and preserve health.

In an accident in Hoover this past weekend, a 68-year-old man was T-boned by another vehicle on the driver's side. After the initial shock of the impact, the 68-year-old man that was struck was able to walk away from his impacted vehicle. Further, he did not feel that he needed to be transported by an ambulance.

After the 7:30 p.m. impact, the victim's family members brought him to St. Vincent's hospital. Doctors there were concerned and quickly transported him elsewhere, but the crash victim was pronounced dead by 10:30 p.m. that same night -- just three hours after the man was walking around, alert and saying he felt fine.

This tragedy shows exactly how serious car accidents are. Even when it does not immediately appear that an individual has been injured, there can be internal bleeding or a brain injury that is not at first evident. The exact injury sustained from the crash that resulted in this man's death has not yet been released. Our thoughts are with his family at this time as they work through their grief.
