All jobs come with their own dangers and risks. Some, however, are more inherently hazardous for workers than others. Construction and industrial work are fields that commonly produce serious workplace accidents. Often, these accidents could have been prevented if proper safety standards were in place and/or followed.
A recent scaffolding accident in Huntsville, Alabama proves how dangerous construction work can be. Scaffoldings are notorious for causing work injuries and injuries to unsuspecting pedestrians. In this most recent Alabama case, three construction workers were hurt while on the job.
According to sources, the three construction workers were working at a high school on a project. The construction work, as it often does, involved the use of scaffolding - which can make for a dangerous scene. In this case, two workers were on the scaffolding when it collapsed and fell, and it landed on another worker below.
All three of the victims, ages 30, 47 and 27, were taken to a nearby Alabama hospital after the construction accident. Fortunately, none of them suffered serious injuries, but history shows that this accident could have ended in great tragedy.
When workers sustain injuries on the job, it is routine and extremely important that authorities investigate the workplace accidents. Did lax safety standards or unsafe working materials lead to the scaffolding accident? Officials will work to answer those types of questions in order to determine whether the company should be held liable for the accident and to prevent future incidents from happening.
