Some people definitely have more physically dangerous jobs than others. Those who work in a corporate office at a computer for the majority of the day probably look at the guy working on a car carrier and think, "Wow. That's a different, scarier-looking kind of job."

Construction work and other more physically-demanding jobs do put employees' lives at risk. One Alabama man, for example, was injured in a workplace accident yesterday, when he was working on his employer's car carrier in Montgomery.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, the workplace injury victim was driving a Hyundai on the upper level of his car carrier when the unexpected happened. Somehow, the vehicle he wound up being driven off of the elevated carrier and rolled onto its roof, with the worker inside. The man came face to face with the dangerous reality of his job.

Fortunately, the vehicle processing center employee didn't sustain critical injuries in the Alabama accident. You can imagine, however, how the incident could have led to a much more serious outcome, including brain and spinal cord injury. The victim reportedly suffered minor cuts to his head.

In any on-the-job accident case, authorities have to investigate whether safety regulations of the company were properly met and followed before the incident occurred. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the matter in order to ensure that the driver wasn't injured as a result of employer negligence and that safety standards are in place for other workers.
