Investigators are still looking into a crash that occurred on Monday morning in Alabama. This is a special and tragic case. Two people reportedly died in the wreck - that's the tragic aspect. The special aspect of this particular car accident is that one of the cars involved in the accident was being driven by an Alabama state trooper.
According to reports, the morning crash took place while the trooper was on his way to a prior accident on Huntsville Browns Ferry Road. That detail arouses questions regarding the cause of the second and fatal crash.
Just because someone is a state trooper or other law enforcement official doesn't mean that they always follow the laws that supposedly guide them in their work. For example, there have been cases across the country when emergency response vehicles run traffic lights when they are not supposed to, killing or injuring other drivers and passengers on the roads.
Currently, any ideas regarding Monday's crash are mere possibilities, as the accident investigation is still ongoing. It is also possible that the car carrying the two victims failed to follow traffic laws and, therefore, wound up in the line of serious danger. Again, this is just conjecture.
Local sources report that in cases involving a state employee, a thorough and careful investigation takes place in order to get answers. It's important for everyone to drive safely. For state officials whose duty it is to keep the community safe, however, it seems even more crucial that they adhere to laws and safety protocols.
Depending on the outcome of the investigation, families of the victims could have potential wrongful death lawsuits on their hands. But that is only if it's proven that the trooper violated the law.
